Surveys Issued by the Competition Management Office
The first type is a Sources Sought Market Survey issued by the Competition Management office at TACOM under the Source Approval Program. The Source Approval Program provides a way for a supplier to compete for business on spare parts that had previously been sole source or restricted source. If a non-competitive item is not on the CASL or APPL and TACOM intends to buy it in the future, a "Source Sought" notification will appear in the Commerce Business Daily and on this Web page. This notification invites interested parties to contact TACOM about the opportunities for Source Approval on the particular item. Guidelines for prospective contractors are contained in the "Source Approval Information" booklet. Buyer & Program Manager Market Surveys
The second type of market survey is issued by the buyer and/or program manager to identify sources
and products to support potential requirements. Contracts are not awarded as a direct result of these surveys. Response
to these surveys is voluntary, and no reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing
information in response to one of these surveys.
